Description :
Spend a weekend to this fun and fulfilling workshop.  Make yourself or as a gift for your friends or family a classic, simple summer slip on.  What’s even amazing is that leather slips on are a cure to smelly shoes.  This workshop teaches the students how to make a pair of Slip On Flats from the start to finish. Each student will be given a either a Mens or Ladies template where they could customize their own choices of materials and make them into a pair of wearable pair of summer slip on flats shoes. In this workshop the student will be cutting and piecing together the patterns they had cut out on leather and also working heavily with shoe lasts to take the shape of shoes. And with practice these shoes are something that could be put together within few hours.

Tools and Materials : The students are not required to bring any materials or tools as all are provided during the workshop.

Recommendations: It is advisable to take up our Shoe Design and Pattern Making Workshops together with one of our shoe making workshops.

The beginner’s class is catered for people who wanted to learn shoe making in a traditional sense without the use of heavy machinery. We had combined traditional methods with modern materials and new techniques to create very basic method of shoe making, which is not taught anywhere else in Hong Kong. These methods are invented so that students could bring these methods back home so that they could make shoes themselves without the burden of investing of heavy machinery.

Remarks :
1. During the shoe making process, sewing machines are used to piece leather together.  Students are not compulsory to use sewing machine, as we offer our assistance in sewing for you.  However if participants have the skills to use the sewing machine, we are happy to let them.
2. There will be some leather hand-sewing techniques that we will teach on the spot.
